Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Noblesville Sister Cities exchange program.

What is the Noblesville Sister Cities Youth Exchange?

It is a trilateral summer exchange program where students from Noblesville (Indiana), Nova Prata (Brazil), and Cittadella (Italy) take turns visiting each other’s cities. Each city hosts every three years, and the exchange happens every July.

The program is primarily for Noblesville High School students. Typically, 4 students from each visiting city are selected to travel, plus chaperones and delegates.

Students fill out an application form and go through an interview process. The selection committee evaluates applicants based on their interest, maturity, and readiness for international travel.

Students are paired with a host student in the visiting city and stay with that host family for the entire duration of the exchange. This is the most immersive way to experience the local culture.

Costs vary by year and destination. The committee helps with fundraising and grant applications. Sponsorship opportunities are also available to help cover student travel expenses.

Safety is our top priority. All chaperones and host families undergo background checks. Emergency protocols and 24/7 contact are in place throughout the exchange. Visit our Safety & Compliance page for more details.

Noblesville hosts in July 2025, and the next trip to Nova Prata, Brazil is planned for Summer 2026. Applications open several months in advance.

Absolutely! Host families are always needed in the hosting year. You don’t need to have a child who is traveling to participate as a host family.

You can make a donation by contacting us directly at noblesvillesistercities@gmail.com. We accept sponsorships at various levels and 100% of funding goes toward the exchange program.
